In 2023, a traditional part of the holiday is the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. A visual spectacle of balloons, floats, performances, and more. Whether you watch on NBC or stake out a spot along the 2.5-mile route, you're in for a treat.
And as winter settles in, we invite you to transform your living space into a snug retreat. Begin with warm throws, draping sofas and beds for inviting nooks on chilly nights. Illuminate with soft, ambient lighting.
Indulge in comforting winter drinks. Stock up on hot cocoa, herbal teas, or spiced cider. Keep mugs and cozy blankets handy, inviting you to snuggle up with a warm beverage.
Lastly, infuse your space with seasonal decor. Adorn with festive wreaths, plush cushions, and wintery accents. Add deep, rich colors for a warm, inviting atmosphere – ideal for curling up with a good book, watching a marvelous movie, or welcoming in guests.
With these touches, your space will transform into a winter wonderland. Get ready to embrace the cozy, inviting atmosphere at Chesapeake Ridge in North East, MD.

Anything from walking around our beautiful Chesapeake Ridge property and taking advantage of our resort-style pool, fitness facility, and lounge area. Take your workouts outdoors or just relax while soaking up some vitamin D.
After getting in your sunshine time, enjoy relaxing and the final lazy days of summer. Who says you can’t binge-watch your favorite tv show or movie trilogy? It’s the perfect time to rewatch The Hunger Games movies or catch up on those tv shows you’ve been meaning to watch. Whether you’re a reality tv fan and still haven’t watched The Traitors or finally catching up on the drama series Yellowjackets.
Also, take advantage of this remaining free time by planning to return to school. Get out the old backpacks, notebooks, and school supplies. Try reusing last year’s school supplies as much as possible. Even notebooks that aren’t filled up can be reused. These last few days of summer should be about getting in all those last-minute memories and doing what you can to prepare for getting back to school.

Some of my favorite summer memories come from when I was little and would visit with my Aunt and Uncle. My family and I lived in Pennsylvania while my Aunt, Uncle, and their kids lived in New Jersey. So, every summer we would visit them for a long weekend. They lived near a lake so we would go swimming, bounce on a trampoline on the water, and attempt to dive off the high-dive. When I tried to perform a dive off the highest board, and couldn’t, my cousin told me it was just because I didn’t believe enough. That’s still something we joke about to this day.
There are also some summer memories I have made as recent as this year! This summer, I worked on some passion projects, practicing my graphic design skills and continued working on my short film script. I spent time relaxing by reading books like They Both Die At The End and Red, White & Royal Blue, listening to new music like Feed the Beast by Kim Petras and Vampire by Olivia Rodrigo, and going to the movies to see No Hard Feelings, The Little Mermaid, and Barbie.
Chesapeake Ridge hopes by sharing some summer memories that our community members are inspired to look back on their fondest summer memories and are encouraged to continue to create more this August.

For a lot of Americans, Memorial Day is the unofficial start of summer. Many people attend parades, go to the beach, or have barbeques with family and friends- which can be hosted right here at Chesapeake Ridge. But at its core, Memorial Day is a yearly remembrance for those who have sacrificed their lives in the military service.
Each year, throughout a television broadcast, a Memorial Day Parade is broadcasted as a tribute to our Nation’s fallen heroes. Presented by Boeing returns live to Constitution Avenue this Memorial Day, May 29, at 2:00 PM. Whether you come to watch live, in-person, or on television from around the country, or the world, the story of American sacrifice is shared from Washington DC to North East, MD to beyond.
Then, stay tuned for the very special Independence Day television companion- Our Sacred Honor: An American Salute. Airing on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, and CW stations nationwide, the National Memorial Day Parade and Our Sacred Honor commemorate the shared values of service and sacrifice that have brought this nation together throughout history.
