2020 marked the first year since its inception that the Annual Cecil County Christmas Parade was not, in fact, annual. Due to the pandemic, it was cancelled. But the holiday tradition is set to return for 2021! On Saturday, December 4th, Santa Claus will make his triumphant return to North East along with a host of other holiday characters.
The community will once again converge upon Main Street for a full day of holiday festivities, beginning with the Santa-led parade at 11 a.m. He’ll be joined by festive floats, vintage cars, local marching bands, fire trucks, and even gussied-up characters on horseback as the parade pours down Main Street. After the parade comes to a close, Main Street will continue to buzz with special treats and offers from local restaurants and boutiques! It’s the perfect time to sneak in a little extra holiday shopping before you’re really down to the wire. You can stick around to snap a photo with Santa, too, before heading back to your Chesapeake apartment! He usually sets up shop at a local business for a few days before and after the parade to pose for photos.
